What is REALLY in your coffee?

July 27, 2020

You may have noticed that after you drink coffee, your mind is not only more awake, but so is your body!  According to one study, people have movement in their colon within 4 minutes of drinking coffee. So why is this? What is in coffee that makes our bodies react in this way?

Caffeine:
The first ingredient that sends us running to the lavatory during our morning lecture is caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant that boosts energy and helps us stay alert. It also stimulates the colon, rectum and digestive tract, causing us to have the urge to poop. Studies have shown that coffee makes the colon 60% more active compared to water.

Hormones Stimulation:
Coffee has been shown to stimulate hormones that help to push food through the gut. One of these hormones, Gastrin, makes the colon more active.

Milk or Creamer:
A large number of people who drink coffee, add milk or creamer. These items contain lactose, which is a natural stimulant. Not to mention, over 65% of people do not have the ability to digest lactose properly. This means that for many people drinking coffee with creamer, it may cause them a quick trip to the restroom.

Chemicals:
Many coffee brands have added chemicals in their coffees. Unfortunately, many of these unhealthy additions can add to the urge to have to go. But at least we are getting those chemicals out of our systems!

So what can we do to help this?
We have a brand of coffee here called Organo. This coffee is amazing! It is infused with a super food called Ganoderma. Ganoderma is known for many amazing benefits, and you can look back on some of my blogs to see them. In this case, Ganoderma acts as a buffer to the caffeine in the coffee. You will still get the caffeine in the coffee, but you will just get a slower, steady rise. You will also notice that you do not get the big drop either. The feeling that you have to go to the bathroom should be much more controllable. No more running out of a meeting or pulling into the next gas station on your way to work.

Ganoderma also helps build up the healthy levels of your gut bacteria so you will be able to maintain a better bathroom visiting schedule in the future.

Organo coffee contains no chemicals, and you can get it in black. We have you covered!
