Toxins are everywhere and ultimately unavoidable unless you live in a bubble.
We can put the cleanest products on our skin, eat the most nutrient dense and clean foods we can find, use the best water filtration system, and still be exposed to toxins every single day. Emotional stress also plays a part in the negative toxins and stress that plague us every day. Thankfully our bodies are literally created to be able to withstand most toxins and expel them on a regular basis without much harm done. The problem begins when the toxic load becomes too much for our bodies to handle. If we are emotionally stressed as well, there becomes a buildup of one or many toxins within the body that begin to cause various health effects from common allergies all the way to autoimmunity and cancer. Chemical and emotional toxins suppress our organ function and allow the disease process to begin. Of course, we should do our best to limit our toxic exposure by eating clean foods and using clean products, but what happens when we are exposed to something and what are some of the best ways to detoxify from the inside out?
There are really three keyways that we naturally detoxify our bodies every day.
They are things that if you don’t do, toxins will build up quickly and be very harmful quickly. Luckily for us, we detoxify through our liquid and solid waste, as well as through our sweat!
Here are some easy ways to make sure you do these things on a regular basis.
The number 1 way to detoxify is by going number 1. A key indication of being more toxic is if your urine is a dark color and if you aren’t going more than a couple times in a day. Dilute those toxins by drinking plenty of water. A good amount to go by is to drink half of your weight in ounces of water. A 200-pound man should drink around 100 ounces of water per day.
Going number 2 is also key to getting that toxic waste out. Toxic waste is as smelly coming from you as it is in the landfill. Good amounts of fiber in your diet is key to going to the bathroom regularly, but one cannot live on fiber or carbohydrates alone. We need quality protein (preferably animal based) because it is nutrient dense. The density means our bodies absorb most of it and has little waste left over. The fiber will help any extra toxins leave the body more readily.
Lastly, we all need to sweat more. It doesn’t matter what you do to get a good sweat as long as you are allowing your body to get rid of toxic waste through your skin. Often the more you sweat, the clearer and healthier your skin is because the pores in your skin are literally cleansed from the release of sweat.
