Toxins in the food, air, sea, and trees, are these toxins trying to harm me?

May 9, 2022

The truth is toxins are everywhere and in everything. The question truly becomes, can I avoid all toxins? The answer to that question of course is no, you can’t. Even if you walk around all day in a plastic bubble to avoid any bad air or anything you think may kill you, the toxicity of fear alone may be your demise, not to mention the plastic from your bubble.

Maybe you’ve heard about heavy metals. All of them are toxic to the body at a certain amount, but many of them are needed for the natural processes of the body. Some, like copper, zinc, or iron are essential for endocrine balance, and blood production, or immune defense. But if there is too much, the body gets out of balance and even deficient in other vital vitamins and minerals that are necessary for daily optimal function. Before the industrial age, our bodies had a greater likelihood to fully detox from the surrounding air, water, food, and household cleaners, but today there is so much everywhere that our systems get overloaded. If you’ve ever had an old computer with no storage space left, then you understand that an overloaded system slows way down and even begins to pick up malware or viruses along the way.

Are the toxins trying to harm me?

Of course not, but they have the potential to if we let them. If you look at the average American, you will see someone who works hard (maybe too hard at times), doesn’t sleep enough, eats fast food, maybe drinks too much alcohol, and probably has family stress of some kind. This lifestyle is pretty typical, and it can create the perfect storm for overloading the body and creating disease. For the average person, it’s not the toxin that gives you disease or auto-immunity, but the inability to eliminate the toxins from our bodies.

In our previous blogs, we have discussed great ways to help your body detoxify and that includes organic non GMO food, grass-fed or pasture raised meat, filtered water, exercise that makes you sweat, and any method that helps you fully express your stress like Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET) which we offer in the clinic, meditation, or prayer.

At the end of the day, it is our own function and mentality that dictates if we will be sick or not. “Mind is everything, what we think, we become”. Be mindful of what you are thinking and doing, because your thoughts suggest, and your actions prove.
