Children’s Mental Health and NET

March 7, 2022

We have all heard the saying “children are resilient”.

We usually hear this after a child gets physically hurt or maybe even after something traumatic happens in their life or around them. It is impossible to argue with the fact that children are resilient from a physical perspective. They are literally made to be able to bounce back and recover from physical traumas and learn from the experience enough to either try again or take another route. Almost all of us have been physically hurt and recovered from that experience and we know that the body’s capacity to heal is remarkable. Many have learned that although the body has healed, in some cases, the mind is still hurting.

Today there are more child depression and suicides than ever before, and their internal chemistry plays a large part. When you think about your mind or yourself, maybe you will think of your emotions. Emotions play a huge role in life and are essential to experience life fully, but sometimes they can seem to consume rather than add emphasis. We need to understand that emotions are simply chemical reactions that take place in the body and in the mind. It is possible to change your chemical makeup by the quality of the food you eat, water you drink, and the environment you live in. As a parent, choosing to make a positive change in any of these areas can greatly impact your child’s mental health because they will have better nutrients to balance out their brain chemistry making it easier for them to handle stress or trauma in their life.

What can I do?

Here at Opp Family Chiropractic, we have a technique called Neuro Emotional Technique (NET). This technique makes it easy for the child or parent to pinpoint stressors in life that are creating negative or bad chemical reactions to different organs and throughout the body. Once the trauma (or bad chemistry) is pinpointed, our bodies have a new opportunity to process the trauma and therefore change the chemical reactions that take place with it. Our bodies are all about balance and if our body’s chemistry is out of balance, due to nutritional or emotional toxins, then that is where physical and mental problems begin to form. If left unchecked, the “resilience” of a child’s body starts to fade as it gets overwhelmed.

If you have any questions about NET or any treatments for children, please call and we can answer.
