To me, being thankful means showing appreciation in all the things that have happened to me, especially the smaller things. For example, earlier in the summer, my mom and I would take time out of our busy days and get coffee or a small treat together. This allowed time for just the two of us to be together, without other family members around. We would catch up with everything that had happened, and it was nice to take a step back and spend that time together. Something small like that was able to make both of our days better as we were able to look back on everything and realized we had so much to be thankful for.

Showing thanks and being thankful can be shared with others or it can be kept to oneself. No matter which way works for you, being thankful is always a positive experience to have. It allows you to look back at all that you have accomplished and makes you wonder how different your life could be if some things were changes. That is how I sometimes will look at things. It makes me more thankful with everything I have accomplished so far. Being thankful means you are able to recognize everything that has happened to you and how it has benefited your life for the better.
