Movement for Movement

March 11, 2021

The human body is a self- regulating organism and therefore is able to detoxify itself, however certain lifestyle choices can support and enhance the body’s natural ability to detoxify. One of those lifestyle choices includes movement- of any kind. Exercise increases blood flow, increases oxygen uptake, increases digestion, and increases the detoxification process.

Taking part in regular physical activity helps your kidneys, liver, and other detoxification organs function at their best. Any type of movement is good, and you should try to shoot for at least thirty minutes a day. Exercise helps to increase the movement of blood, which then increases the speed of detoxification. Some people also believe that exercise helps with increasing the body’s ability to deep breathe, which creates a stronger lung detoxification process.

If you are someone who does not normally exercise, consider starting off slow with walking once a day for at least thirty minutes, or doing gentle yoga and really focus on breathing. You can slowly build up from there and improve your body’s natural detoxification process.

There are many ways in which you can support your detoxification process, with exercise being a huge one. If you have any questions about detoxification or need help with starting an exercise program, call the office today and we will help get you on your journey to better health!
