To me, thankfulness is very simple, yet very elaborate! I feel that is important to remember to be thankful for the many things we have, no matter how big or small they are.
My thankfulness does not need to be shared with anyone else. I take a moment whenever during the day to be thankful, and it always helps me stay positive.
There are times, however, when sharing this thankfulness with others is a great idea. Saying a prayer before a meal is a great time for thankfulness for many people. For me, I try to take time with my husband when we are both settled in after work and are share how our day went. I love to reflect on a couple of things throughout the day we both can be thankful for!
I believe that acknowledging thankfulness in our lives is more important than ever. Many days we go through the entire workday without taking the time to think about what makes us happy or brings us joy. Instead, we concentrate on our job and our coworkers, which is great, but we have not concentrated on ourselves! Whether it is on your way home from work, or with your children after you all get home, it is a great idea to think of things you can be thankful for on a regular basis to keep your heart and minds in the right attitude. Families can think about daily activities like a video game for my stepson, or a chance to Facetime with Grandma. Either one is great! Big or small, anything positive is a great thing to be thankful for.
