NO MORE BATTLES!
Having trouble getting your kiddos to take their Biocidin®? When it comes to taking supplements, some children open wide like a little bird and others are pickier, refusing to cooperate.
Getting a child to take supplements shouldn’t be a battle!
The answer is gummies! Chewy, squishy, yummy gummies!
START WITH PURE INGREDIENTS
These aren’t your traditional gummies. They’re loaded with pure fruit juice, antioxidants, amino acids, and more!
- Natural ingredients – No additives, flavors, or harmful dyes
- Nutrient-dense foods – Açaí, blueberries, and gelatin
- Botanicals – Biocidin® is a synergistic combination of pharmaceutical-grade botanicals that targets the entire GI tract to support microbial balance*
- No refined sugars – These gummies are sweetened with real fruit juice, honey, and/or glycine
Let’s take a closer look at a few of the ingredients used in this recipe and their health benefits.
THE MANY BENEFITS OF GELATIN
Gelatin is a pure protein composed of 18 amino acids with an abundance of glycinecoming in at a whopping 27% per serving!1 (More on glycine later.) It is easily digested, with no cholesterol, and is nearly tasteless and odorless.
- Gut Health – Gelatin is known to aid digestion and improve gut function. The amino acids in gelatin help repair intestinal wall damage from leaky gut and rebuild the protective mucosal lining of the intestines.2 Gelatin will also help the bacteria in the gut produce butyrate, a short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) that plays an essential role in maintaining intestinal homeostasis and overall health.3
- Glowing Skin, Strong Hair, and Nails – Gelatin contains the amino acids glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline, which are building blocks for collagen production.
- Healthy Joints – Gelatin’s properties go further than skin-deep. They support joint health. Cartilage becomes thinner with age, which can lead to pain, stiff joints, and chronic inflammatory conditions, such as osteoarthritis. As gelatin goes to work increasing collagen production and improving cartilage density, kids get a head start on healthy joints.4
HOW DOES GLYCINE PROMOTE HEALTH?
Glycine is a non-essential amino acid that the body makes naturally. It is also found in protein-rich foods and is available as a dietary supplement. The smallest of amino acids, glycine is utilized in the synthesis of other amino acids, glutathione, heme, creatine, RNA, and DNA.5
- Detoxification/Glutathione Synthesis – As I mentioned earlier, gelatin is packed full of the amino acid glycine. Glycine is a key player when it comes to detoxification and helps balance the effects of excessive methionine. Glycine is also a precursor for glutathione synthesis, a detoxifying process that helps protect your liver, processes toxins, and assists in the excretion of heavy metals. Glutathione plays a role in the phase II detoxification pathway.6
- Glucose Management – Glycine can help support healthy blood glucose levels by stimulating the secretion of glucagon, a hormone produced by cells in the pancreas. Glucagon enhances the effect of insulin on glucose removal from circulation – balancing out blood sugars.7
- Sleep – In a 2007 study, supplementing with 3g of glycine before bed improved sleep quality by shortening the time it takes to fall asleep while increasing slow-wave sleep (the deepest phase of sleep).8

RECIPE: BIOCIDIN GUMMIES
Yield: Depending on the size of your molds, you will yield approximately 200 gummies.
Prep time: 15 minutes
Total time: 30 minutes
Description
These gummies are packed full of nutrients and easy to make! The three options below are flavored with real fruit juice and Biocidin® and made with gut-healing gelatin (not to be confused with collagen). Depending on the size of your gummy, each one will be equivalent to ¼-drop of Biocidin®, making this an excellent option for the pediatric population. You can use a variety of sugar-free fruit juice to customize these treats to your taste. The gummies are sweetened with honey, glycine, or a combination of the two. Fine-tune the sweetness to your liking by adjusting the honey and/or glycine.
Blueberry Açaí
- 1 cup pure blueberry juice
- 1 Tbs açaí powder
- 1-2 Tbs honey and/or glycine
- 3 Tbs grass-fed gelatin
- 50 drops Biocidin® liquid
Orange
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1-2 Tbs honey and/or glycine
- 3 Tbs grass-fed gelatin
- 50 drops Biocidin® liquid
Apple and Grape
- 1 cup of apple grape juice (no sugar added)
- 1-2 Tbs honey and/or glycine
- 3 Tbs grass-fed gelatin
- 50 drops Biocidin® liquid
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place ½-cup of juice (reserve the other half for step 2) in a medium bowl and sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the top of the liquid. The gelatin will absorb the juice and swell in size. Leave the mixture to bloom for a few minutes – the texture will resemble applesauce.
- Meanwhile, heat the remaining ½-cup of juice in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming hot (just before boiling).
- Turn off the heat and stir in the remainder of the ingredients – honey and/or glycine, Biocidin®, and açaí (optional).
- Remove the heated mixture from the stove and stir it into the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.
- Using a dropper, fill your gummy molds with the mixture.
- Put the molds in the refrigerator to firm up. If your molds are small, it should only take about 10 to 15 minutes for them to firm up enough to pop out.
- If you don’t have enough molds to use all the gummy mixture at once, you can gently reheat the mixture over low heat when your molds are empty and ready to use again.
- Store the gummies in a sealed container in the refrigerator and serve at room temperature for optimal flavor and squishiness.
- Repeat for other flavors!
